1. Mrs. Susan Coutinho, Junior School Supervisor
Mrs. Susan Coutinho is the Supervisor of the Junior School. She completed her B.A. from Pune University, her B.Ed. and M.A. from Nagpur University and Trained Teachers Certificate from S.M.T.C. She is also a Gold Medallist in Geography. Mrs. Coutinho has been teaching since 1971 when she joined Barnes. Thereafter she joined St. Joseph’s Convent, Nagpur where she taught for 25 years. She re-joined Barnes in the capacity of a Supervisor in March 2007. She is a multi-faceted person who enjoys paying the guitar and singing in the choir. She has been associated with the All India Anglo Indian Association as President of the Nagpur Branch and Vice-President of the Devlali Branch.
2. Mrs. Sharon Frederick, Play School
Mrs. Sharon Frederick completed her Teachers Training from St. Mary’s College of Education, Pune. She has been teaching in Barnes for 20 long years. Mrs. Frederick is a House Mistress of the Girls Residential Block and the House President of Florence Nightingale. She is a talented person with craft work and spends her free time reading and enjoys games like Basketball, Table Tennis and Throw Ball. She readily helps others when it comes to school functions and adds her valuable suggestions.
3. Mrs. Shireen Ajmerwala, Nursery A
Mrs. Shireen Ajmerwala is an M.A. in English from Pune University and a Trained Teachers Certificate from St. Mary’s Junior College of Education, Pune. She has taught in Dastur School, Pune from 1998 – 2009, when she joined Barnes in the same year. Her interests include gardening, craft and reading. She also enjoys swimming, badminton and board games.
4. Ms. Finella D’cruz, Nursery A (Helper)
Ms. Finella D’cruz completed her Higher Secondary from Dr. Gujar Junior College of Commerce. She assists in the Nursery Class. She excels in craft work and drawing. She joined Barnes in 2009.
5. Mrs. Dimple Mascarenhas, Nursery B
Mrs. Dimple Mascarenhas is a B.A. from Calicut University and Trained Teachers Certificate from Nasik. She joined Barnes in 2009. She enjoys playing playing badminton and golf. Her interests include singing, dancing, travelling and making new friends.
6. Mrs. Rosy Martin Bernard, Nursery B
Mrs. Rosy Martin Bernard assists in the Nursery Class. She has been teaching in Barnes from the year 2003. Her interests include cooking and baking. She enjoys dancing too.
7. Ms. Theresa D’souza, Prep A
Ms. Theresa D’souza passed out from Carmel Teachers Training College and taught in St. Joseph’s Convent School, Sikkim for five years. She has been teaching in Barnes for the last 6 years and she keeps herself busy reading. She is the House Vice-President of Joan of Arc.
8. Mrs. Evelyn Tims, Prep B
Mrs. Evelyn Tims studied in the Railway School, Bilaspur and completed her training from St. Mary’s Junior College of Education , Allahabad. Mrs. Tims taught in St. Mary’s School, Jharsuguda for 7 years, The Assembly of God Church School for two years and in St. Patrick’s School, Asansol for two years before joining Barnes in 2007. She takes interest in reading and cross-stitch work and enjoys games like basketball and volleyball.
9. Mrs. Priya Daniel, 1 A
Mrs. Priya Daniel completed her B.Com from the University of Madras and her B.Ed. from Alagappa University both in Tamil Nadu. Mrs. Daniel has been teaching in Barnes for the last six years, she however joined us with 14 years of teaching experience. She is adventurous and enjoys travelling and socialising. She takes special interest in helping orphaned children and underprivileged people.
10. Mrs. Hema Pardesi, 1 C
Mrs. Hema Pardesi is a B.A. from Pune University and Trained Teachers Certificate from St. Mary’s College of Education, Pune. She taught at the Deccan Education School, Pune for six years and then at the International Indian School, Al-Jubail, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She joined Barnes School in 2009. She plays chess and enjoys making of wax candles.

12. Mrs. Karen D’souza, 2 B
Mrs. Karen D’souza passed out from Sofia College, Mumbai and her Teachers Training from St. Margret’s College, Mumbai. She has taught in St. Patrick’s School, Devlali for 5 years, in Playway Nursery School for two years and is working in Barnes since 2004. Mrs. D’souza takes interest in gardening, reading and stitching. She also enjoys playing throwball.
13. Mrs. Bandana D’souza, 2 C
Mrs. Bandana D’souza is a B. A. from Pune University and a Trained Teachers Certificate from Mount Hermon College of Education. She has been teaching in Barnes from 2003. Earlier she was with Adams Peak Academy and Father Leblon School, in Siliguri, West Bengal. She excels in cooking and needle work, however she enjoys travelling and playing badminton and table tennis.
14. Mrs. Susan Johnstone, 3 A
Mrs. Susan Johnstone is a B.A. and an M.A. in History from Kanpur University and a B.Ed. She worked as a librarian in Bishop’s School, Pune for two years and St. Helena’s School, Pune for five years before joining Barnes in 2006. She takes a lot of interest in craft and needle work.
15. Mrs. Shelu Subedar, 3 B
Mrs. Shelu Subedar is a B.Sc. from Jabalpur University and a B.Ed. from Kanpur University. She has got many years of teaching experience. She began her career in the Army School of Tenga Valley and Amritsar. She then taught in at. Joseph’s Convent and Boy’s High School Allahabad. She then joined Barnes School in 1994. Her interests include craft work, reading and cooking.
16. Mrs. Judline Dinger, 3 C
Mrs. Judline Dinger completed her education from St, Mark’s, Jhansi and her Trained Teachers Certificate from St. Mary’s Training College, Allahabad. She joined Barnes in 1983 and has been working here for 27 long years. Mrs. Dinger has seen, in her long stay in Barnes, the changes that time has brought about for the development and enhancement of various facilities over the years. She enjoys working here and is very nostalgic about the many years spent here. She spends a lot of her time cooking and is an outstanding cricketer. She has represented the state in various tournaments. She is the House Vice-President of Florence Nightingale.
17. Mrs. Sarah Phillips, 4 A
Mrs. Sarah Phillips did her B.A. from Wilson College and her B.Ed. from St. Teresa’s Santa Cruz, under the University of Bombay. She began her career in 1976 in St. Andrew’s School, Agripada, Mumbai, after nine years she moved to The Indian School Muscat, Sultanate of Oman and worked there for 16 years. She returned to Devlali in 2003 and has been teaching in Barnes since then. She enjoys cooking and fabric painting.
18. Mrs. D. Simoes, 4 B
Mrs. D. Simoes is a B. A. from Nagpur University and a B.Ed. from Indira Gandhi University. She has taught in Campion School, Bhopal and Raj Kumar College and has been in Barnes for the last seven years. She is a wonderful anchor for all junior school programmes. She is proud of her culinary skills and enjoys reading when she is not in the kitchen.
19. Ms. Sheliela Jacob, 4 C
Ms. Sheliela Jacob is a B. A. from Isabella Thorbon College, Lucknow and a B.Ed. from The Indian Institute of Professional Studies. She has taught in Fravashi Academy and Silver Oak in Nasik and joined Barnes in 2010. She spends her time cooking, listening to music and enjoys the company of small children.
20. Mrs. Mercy Thomas, 5 A
Mrs. Mercy Thomas is a B.Sc. from the Catholicate College, Kerala University and a B.Ed. from Bharatiya Shiksha Parishad, U.P. She has also completed her Computer programming from I.C.I.T. Infotech, Mumbai. She has taught in the Army Schools of Missamari, Assam and Devlai and two years at Podar International School, Nasik before joining Barnes in 2009. her interests include stitching and drawing.
21. Mrs Preeti Russell, 5 B
Mrs Preeti Russell is a B.Com., M.Com., and a B.Ed. from Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur. She has taught in Christ Church Boys Senior Secondary School, Jabalpur from 2004 – 2007. She joined Barnes in 2008. Her interests include music and dancing.
22. Mrs. Beena Thapa, 5 C
Mrs. Beena Thapa is a B.A. from the Jamshedpur Womens College and a B.Ed. from the Loyola College of Education, Ranchi University. Mrs. Thapa joined Barnes after teaching for 18 years in various schools viz. St. Joseph’s Convent, Darjeeling, St. Paul’s School, Patna, Valley View School, Jamshedpur and Priceless Pearl Scholars Academy. She excels in needle-work and artificial flower making besides her interests in music, cooking and reading.
23. Mrs. Bernadine Fernandez, Art & Craft
Mrs. Bernadine Fernandez is a Montessori trained teacher. Her art and craft skills are beyond explanation. She joined Barnes in 1991 and has been teaching here tirelessly for the past 20 years. She puts her decorative skills to use for every school function which gives it a different colour. There is a personal touch in all her work. She enjoys parties and is a very sociable person. She is the House Vice-President of Edith Cavell.
24. Mrs. Pooja Yadav, Hindi / Sanskrit
Mrs. Pooja Yadav is a B.A. from Gaur Brahman Degree College, Maharishi Dayanand University, and a B.Ed. from Chenab College, Jammu University. She has earlier taught in The Army and Air Force Schools in Jodhpur, Jammu and Devlali. She joines Barnes in 2008. She enjoys playing basketball and billiards. Her interests include interior decoration.
23. Mrs. Kuntal Bishnoi, Hindi / Sanskrit
Mrs. Kuntal Bishnoi is an M.A. from the M.D.S. University of Ajmer and a B.Ed. from Jammu University. She has taught in the Army School Jammu and joined Barnes School in 2009. Her interests include candle making and reading. She also plays badminton, volleyball and cricket.

25. Ms. Marie Colette Fernandez, Maths/English
Ms. Marie Colette Fernandez completed her Teachers Training from St. Mary’s Junior College of Education, Pune. She has been teaching in Barnes for the past three years. Prior to that she had been teaching in St. Joseph’s Convent, Nagpur for 16 years. During her free time she enjoys cooking, gardening, painting and embroidery. She is the House Mistress for the Junior Boys’ Dormitory. She also takes care of the chapel services on Sundays. She is the House Vice-President of Helen Keller.
26. Mrs. Shirley Ann D’costa
Mrs. Shirley Ann D’costa is a B.A. from Ahilya University, Indore and a B.Ed. from Annamalai University, Chennai. She has been teaching in Barnes School for the past 12 years. Prior to that she was employed at St. Mark’s School, Babina and The Noble School, Hyderabad. Her interests include reading and cooking.
