On behalf of the Directors of the Bombay Education Society, I am delighted to welcome all of you to the Barnes School & Junior College website. This website, to a certain extent, is a lodestar to the school’s constant development and journey. It gives me immense satisfaction to report the yearly improvement of our ICSE and ISC results, notably the high achievers, raising the bar with higher number of students securing above 90% to over 40% of total examinees, compared to less than 7% more than 3 years ago. As we emerge as one of the country’s best boarding schools and retain the core values and mission of the school on the West India academic map, many well-wishers and staff need to be thanked, as what Barnes School & Junior College has achieved is an amalgam of opinions and ideas, which come from teachers & former teachers and students. It’s a huge honor and privilege to have the opportunity to lead and work alongside a committed, dedicated and professional team in the school’s development.

I wish to pay my gratitude to the President and other Directors of the Bombay Education Society for showing trust in me and giving me the responsibility of implementing current changes in the school. Barnes School has spent decades in building up an understanding of excellence in education. This year, the school, despite and in spite of the pandemic, decided to twin with Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, which to a great extent, will help us in regaining our prime position in the field of football. In order to have greater flexibility which allows us to respond to evolving trends in the future, we introduced the National Defense Academy (NDA), which has already become efficacious through 1 of our students, out of 6 who appeared this year. Barnes has also associated with the International Institute of Hotel Management, Pune, which enables our students to get preference in seeking admission and attractive discounts, once they have completed their ISC Grade 12 with us. As a team, we are committed to scale up our collective efforts and achieve the key priorities in the following months.

I, and my team, look forward to working together and interacting with parents, former students and the community to recreate the future of our school. Henceforth, we plan to have more informative sessions through the Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs). We are going to encourage a 360o feedback for teachers and students alike. Constant upgrading of our infrastructure, in close consultation with student representatives, personalized learning programs and contemporary teaching approaches and emphasized problem-solving and computational thinking will be encouraged.

More exchange programs will be orchestrated so that we have global connectedness and develop social skills to balance emotional wellness among our students. We encourage achieving academic excell3ence through better learning and timeliness. We will encourage partnerships with beneficial groups that will increase synergetic associations and faster, better learning as well as the transaction of knowledge.

In this, we will be able to ensure that every child who passes through our school has a meaningful education in a simulating and natural environment. Having had substantial experience in Indian schools abroad, like Indian School, Muscat, Our Own English high School, Dubai, we at Banres will continue to build on every child’s strength and help them embrace success through academic excellence and holistic all-round development.

We pride ourselves with 24 hour turnaround to emails so I wish all of you happy reading / browsing of our website and look forward to your valued feedback.
